Michigan’s workforce also have much to celebrate as Michigan businesses plan on beefing up the staff, and training and pay for its employees. The increased optimism can be attributed to uncertainties that are now behind Michigan business owners such as the fiscal cliff and Presidential election.

The biggest survey takeaways include:

-New hiring has skyrocketed and is the strongest in Lansing and Metro Detroit.
-The percentage of Michigan businesses hiring is at an all time high even since the first survey back in 2006. This is especially the case for businesses with over 20 employees.
-50 percent of businesses surveyed feel that their sales will continue to increase in the following 6 months.
-30 percent of surveyed businesses will also be hiring new employees to help handle the increased sales.
-32 percent of West Michigan businesses plan on bumping up its wages for its employees.
