What is all the buzz about my auto insurance policy changing?

By February 14, 2020April 14th, 2022No Comments

There are upcoming changes to the Michigan auto insurance policy, from legislation that passed last summer. So what does this mean for the family sending their first child off to college? The small heating and cooling business with two vehicles? The single parent with young children? The retiree on a fixed income?

Everyone’s situation is different and not one auto insurance policy will fit all. Starting July 2, 2020 there will be choices on your auto insurance policy for Medical coverage under Personal Injury Protection (PIP) for the first time since 1973, when Governer Milliken signed Michigan No-Fault into law. So, with these new options, how will you know what is the right coverage for your situation?

Our goal over the next few months is to educate you on exactly what choices you have. Then when the time comes, you can choose the coverage that will best protect you, your family, or your business. Ron Jackson Insurance has been preparing for this since Governer Whitmore signed No-Fault into law last May. We want to be your resource for any questions you might have. The more dialogue we can have the better informed you can be when your auto insurance renews after July 2nd , or when purchasing a new policy. We hope you continue to read our blogs and contact us with questions!
